Rye Market & Carr Taylor Vineyard Day Trip

Rye Farmers’ Market is a show case for great tasting, local, seasonal produce. A perfect place for foodies to visit to try some of the artisan products on offer. 

The Market takes place every week at Strand Quay, Rye. All the producers raise, grow, catch, bake and make their own goods in or near Rye. Some produce is organic, some guaranteed unsprayed and some free range. The friendly stallholders are happy to help with any questions you might have about their products.

The Carr Taylor vineyard started producing fine English wine in 1971 and since then has won over 130 awards for their superb wine.

Your visit begins with a tour around the vineyard with an experienced guide, who will be dedicated to your tour. They will entertain you with a brief history of English wine, the problems encountered and the basic differences between a UK vineyard and those in Europe.

You will also have the opportunity to visit the winery to see the vats and presses being used, and learn about some of their wine-making techniques. This is followed by a visit to the bottling room to see the machinery and learn about the specialist production of the Carr Taylor Still and Sparkling Wines.
