The History of Daish's Holidays

Our family of hotels and luxury coaches has been providing great holidays since Jeanne Wilson bought Daish’s Hotel in 1979. Jeanne was already in the hospitality trade - as the owner of a small hotel - when she bought Daish's in 1979; her first coach followed five years later.

Two further hotels - neither of which are still part of the group - were added in 1993 and 1999, before the company expanded further with the purchase of Torquay's Devonshire Hotel in 2001, followed soon after by the Bournemouth Sands Hotel (2005) and the Barrowfield Hotel (2007). The Claremont Hotel in Eastbourne was added in 2013, which we sadly lost to a fire in 2019. Our wonderful Weymouth properties - The Russell Hotel and the Hotel Prince Regent – joined the group in 2014. And 2015 saw our first venture into Wales with the Somerset Hotel in Llandudno. In 2018 we expanded our coverage even further with the purchase of Daish's Blackpool Hotel and our first inland hotel, the County Hotel in Kendal.

2020 saw the group grow even further with the purchase of 3 more hotels. In the March we added the Esplanade Hotel in Scarborough. Then at the end of the year, despite the pandemic, we acquired the Abbey Lawn Hotel in Torquay and the Imperial Hotel in Eastbourne, along with their sister company Robinsons Holidays, a similar company to Daish's but with a client base in the North of England.

The company now has 12 hotels in 10 popular UK resorts, and our fleet of luxury coaches ready to collect you and take you on your holidays.

Service, quality, welcoming, friendly staff and excellent value are at the heart of this family-owned company. With family-friendly accommodation and entertainment throughout the year, we have something for everyone.
