Chester Excursion

The city of Chester was founded back in the first century by the Romans and is now famed for it’s historic city walls. Our day trip gives you a chance to explore the city.

The old city is home to The Rows shopping district, which houses an abundance of fashion boutiques, independent shops and high street favourites - there’s something for every age group, style and budget. Discover specialist food shops, art galleries, gifts, jewellery, fashion and much more within the cobbled streets and quirky lanes of this compact walled city.

Escape the shops and take a wander around Chester Cathedral. Dating back to 1092, the Cathedral is a magnificent building and is now many things to many people: a vibrant community of worship, an ancient abbey, an archaeological treasure, a cultural hub, a centre of musical excellence, a unique blend of modern and medieval history. There are so many aspects to this wonderful building that you cannot help but be impressed.
