Accessibility Guide

At the Somerset Hotel we aim to offer high levels of hospitality to all our guests. We hope you will find this access information useful and that it helps to make your visit an enjoyable one.
We are aware that everyone’s needs are different, so if there is any detail you are looking for that is not covered in the information below, then please do get in touch and we will be happy to help. And of course, our friendly and experienced team will be on hand to assist you at any point during your stay with us.

Directions to the hotel

By car: Llandudno is very well served by the A55 which runs from Chester all the way to Anglesey via Llandudno. Travelling north from England using the M6, you exit at junction 20 on to the M56 to North Wales/Chester and then follow the M56 towards Chester/Wrexham and then continue on to the A55 that will take you all the way to within 5 miles of Llandudno.
We are situated on the sea front on St Georges Crescent.
Free guest parking is at the rear of the hotel, or free on the front for blue badge holders.
By rail: The train station is a 10-15 minute walk away on level ground. Or a taxi would cost approximately £3.00. Two local taxi firms are Alliance who can be contacted on 01492 878787 and Interlink who can be contacted on 01492 860033.

Some General Points on Access

The entrance at the front of the hotel has five steps which lead into reception. There is a ramp to the left hand side of these steps which lead into the restaurant adjacent to the reception.
Our restaurant, coffee shop, bar, and ballroom are all on one level and are accessible from the main entrance.
The hotel is spread over four floors with lift access to all four of the floors.
Parking is to the rear of the hotel and has lift access to the reception.

When you arrive at the hotel

There is parking available at the front of the hotel for blue badge holders.
Our guest car park is to the rear of the hotel with access to reception via stairs or lift.
Porters will be on hand to help with luggage for arrivals and departures, from both coach and cars. Please ask at reception for assistance with luggage from the car park.

Our Reception Area

The floor is carpeted and well lit.
The reception area is all on one level, with a lift to the left of the reception desk.
Our staff are always available to help you with check-in.

Public Areas

The ballroom, coffee shop bar, restaurant, lounge area, games room and lavatories are all on one level.
The lift serves all levels in the hotel.
There is nightly entertainment in the ballroom which will finish at 11pm. If you wanted to enjoy a quieter evening we have a games room and lounge area for you to relax in.
Most doors in these areas are on auto closures connected to the fire alarm system.

Accommodation

We do not have adapted bathrooms but many are fitted with grab rails where possible.
There is a lift, with braille, which services all floors.
Some of our rooms will have a bath with a shower over, rather than a walk in shower. Please make your requests known to the booking team but please note that all requests are unguaranteed and are catered to on a first come first serve basis.

Fire Alarm

The fire alarm is a high pitched siren with many of the detectors having flashing lights.
Deafguards linked to the fire alarm system are available on request for those guests with impaired hearing. Reception will also make a note of your room number so we can add this to our evacuation procedure.
Emergency evacuation plans are available in each room in the information pack. Please ensure you make yourself familiar with these for your own safety.
For those with mobility issues please inform reception on arrival who will make a note, so we can add this to our evacuation procedure.

Additional Information

All information such as menus, bedroom information and tariffs can be printed in larger fonts if so required. Small dogs are welcome in the hotel but will need to be booked in at the booking office prior to arrival. Mobility scooters can be hired from the front desk or you can contact Get Mobile Scooters on 01492 581146.
