The Living Coasts
More than just an aquarium, Living Coasts has a wide variety of coastal animals and birdlife. There’s plenty to see and do: mingle with the playful penguins, get up close to the otters, octopus and seals, and much more. Visit Penguin Beach to walk with the African and macaroni penguins and catch our entertaining feeding time talks.
The bird enclosure is a key landmark on the seafront and houses over 300 beautiful birds in seascapes of their natural habitats. Downstairs, in the magical aquarium you’ll see their intelligent octopus and deadly rays amongst the mysterious mangroves. Underground viewing windows allow you to see the penguins dive and glide, as well as their feet paddling furiously beneath the water as they play in their wave machine. The pools are up to 3m deep which allows natural diving behaviours in the fresh sea water from Torbay.
There is a daily program of talks and feeding displays so you can learn even more about the animals during your visit.
Living Coasts is twinned with the nearby Paington Zoo. So if you wish to visit both fabulous attractions during your stay with us you can buy 1 ticket for both and save up to 20%!
