Claremont Hotel Accessibility Guide
At the Claremont Hotel we aim to offer high levels of hospitality to all our guests. We hope you will find this access information useful and that it helps to make your visit an enjoyable one.
We are aware that everyone’s needs are different, so if there is any detail you are looking for that is not covered in the information below, then please do get in touch and we will be happy to help. Our friendly and experienced team will be on hand to assist you at any point during your stay with us.
Directions to the hotel
By car: Follow A22 to Eastbourne and then take A2290 which will lead you to the Sovereign roundabout. Exit at Royal Parade; follow the road towards the Pier which is opposite the hotel. Parking is at the back of the hotel
By rail or bus: The train and bus station are located in the town centre behind the hotel. It is 5-10 minutes’ walk through town. There are also taxi ranks located conveniently by both stations. When leaving the train station please carry on in a straight line on the Terminus Road, which will lead you to the seafront. Look for the Pier on the left hand side and we are directly opposite.

Some General Points on Access
The entrance at the front of the hotel has 4 steps. There is also a rear entrance which has a ramp to the car park.
Our Restaurant is on the lower ground floor and it can be accessed by stairs or the lift.
The Coffee Shop, Bar and TV lounge are all on ground level and are accessible from the main entrance.
The hotel is spread over 4 floors with lift access to all of them. There is a separate lift serving the ground floor and lower ground floor including the restaurant.
When you arrive at the hotel
There is street parking available at the back of the hotel for blue badge holders.
The hotels car parking is at the back of the hotel with 3 parking spaces. These are allocated according to the time of booking as well as disability problems. If there are more parking spaces required, we can provide parking permits, which are £1 per day (24hrs) which allows you to park anywhere on street parking on white lines, Zone H, covering most of the seafront and the surrounding areas of the hotel. You can purchase them on the day of your arrival at the reception.
Please do let the reception staff know if you will require any help with the suitcases, porters will be on hand to help from both coach and cars.
Our reception area
The floor is carpeted and well lit. The reception area is on one level, with a lift on the left hand side to the first, second and third floor as well as a lift on the right hand side through the archway that takes you to the lower ground floor rooms and restaurant.
Our staff are always available to help you with check-in and answer all your queries.
There is a separate information board providing information about your arrivals/departure day, daily weather and timetables of local buses. We also have a local map printed out as well as Daish’s brochures so please feel free to grab a copy.
The middle area of the reception has an entertainment board so you can get familiar with your daily entertainment, excursions as well as reminders of your evening quiz and bingo times.
The ballroom, coffee shop and TV lounge are all on one level.
Times of opening for coffee shop and bar are: 10:30am – 4:30pm for the coffee shop and then 5pm – 11.30pm for the bar.
Please do not hesitate to ask coffee shop/reception staff for service for the bar if you require a drink before 5pm.
The main lift serves three floors, with a separate lift serving lower ground floor. At the rear of the hotel there are stairs to access all the floors as well.
Background music does play, in the ballroom as well as in the coffee shop/reception area, albeit at a low level.
The Wi-Fi is only on the ground floor but it is free and available to guests.
There are five rooms located on the ground floor with level access. Four of these bedrooms have wet rooms. There is also one single room with the walk in shower.
We do not have adapted bathrooms, but many are fitted with grab rails where possible.
All rooms have telephones. Please press 9 for an outside line and 0 for reception if needed.
The fire alarm is a high pitched siren. We test the fire alarm on the day of your arrival at 7pm to familiarise you with the sound of it.
The assembly point is by the pier entrance, opposite the hotel.
For those with mobility issues, please inform reception on arrival who will make a note, so we can add this to our evacuation procedure.
All information such as menus, bedroom information and tariffs can be printed in a larger font if so required. Service dogs are accepted at the hotel by prior arrangement.
Mobility scooters can be hired from the front desk. We also provide wheelchair hire as well as walkers.
We can provide on request high raised toilet seats or shower stools so please do not hesitate to ask reception staff for help.
