Travelling by Coach
We use our own fleet of 15 Daish’s coaches, each
with 49 seats and on board toilet. We run tours from many
different areas – each with a number of pick up-points. See the
“travelling from” tick box option for the full list.
As well as having our own fleet of coaches, we also have our own team of regular drivers, both for return journeys and all excursions.
Each coach has its own regular driver, who will explain safety procedure on boarding.
Seat numbers are allocated when you book your holiday with us. The seating layout of each coach in our fleet varies, so we cannot always confirm the exact position on the coach. Occasionally your pre-booked seat may need to be changed for operational reasons
.
Pick up times vary according to the departure point and are arranged to get you to the hotel for a mid to late afternoon check-in. There will be comfort stops on the way with time for a meal break (according to the length of the journey).
Our drivers will load and unload all suitcases and arrange stops en route. Drivers may refuse to load any case that weighs more than 15kg - two small cases are better than one large one. See page 23 about travelling with wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Departure from the hotel on the final day is usually just after breakfast. We are unable to confirm the time of arrival at your home drop off in advance. Check with your driver on the day of departure if you need to know the approximate time you will arrive back at your pick up point.
Please note: you may not always have the same driver for your return journey.
Local Excursions
Each of our hotels runs a number of great value optional excursions during your stay to local places of interest, shopping centres and attractions. See the examples on page 20 Excursions can be booked and paid for at any time at hotel reception at any time after arrival. The excursions are subject to minimum numbers, though most sell out quickly.
Making your own way to the hotels (self drive)
All our brochure holidays can be booked on a self-drive basis – there’s parking at all our hotels and they are all within easy reach of train and coach stations and airports. Generally there is sufficient space in our own car parks for all guests’ cars, though occasionally you may need to park nearby (charges may apply)
Self-drive guests are welcome to arrive at our hotels at any time – though rooms will usually not be ready until mid-afternoon. You can leave your bags at reception until your rooms are ready. This way you can get the most out of your holiday, and tour the resorts at your leisure. You will need to check out of your room by 10.00 on the day of departure, but can leave your bags with reception until you are ready to go home.
You will be sent a map showing hotel location on receipt of your final payment.
You can also book your ferry crossing to the Isle of Wight with us – we have inclusive prices for hotel and ferry for self-drive guests.
