As the summer season kicks off there are plenty of events to look forward to at our resorts.
Torquay Power Boat racing - 27-29th May
Find a comfy deck chair and watch all the action out on the sea as Powerboats and Water Skiers race to see who can take this year’s trophies. It’s worth taking a pair of binoculars to get a close view of the action.
Occombe Beer Festival – 3-4th June
Another event for guests at our Devonshire Hotel in Torquay to visit is the annual Occombe Beer Festival, from 3-5 June. This year there will be over 60 varieties of beer and cider will be available for you to sample, along with Perry, Pimms and at least one alternative for those who prefer something different.
Both days also feature a great line up of live music catering for all tastes and to soak up all the beer there will be a delicious range of good food from local favourites, including tasty burritos and paellas, gourmet burgers, hog roast, authentic Thai noodles, pulled pork, wild venison tagine, halloumi baps.

Having recently re-opened our newest hotel in Llandudno after a major refurbishment we thought our future guests might want some ideas what there is to do and see in the area.
As the hotel is set on the seafront the obvious choice is to stroll along the prom or find a deckchair to sit and watch the world go by. If you are up for a longer walk then the Llandudno Pier is worth a visit.
The Great Orme is the name of the headland at the western end of the bay. There are two very unique ways to climb to the top, either by cable-hauled tram or cable car. Both methods give you superb views of the area and are well worth using. Once at the top there is a visitors centre and plenty of walks to explore the welsh wildlife.
The town centre is a couple of roads behind the hotel and hosts plenty of shops to browse and buy your holiday souvenirs from.
The harbour town of Conwy is just 5 miles away and has plenty more to do, including its Medieval Castle, the Quay with the Mussel Museum and the country's smallest house. For a more exotic day out the Welsh Mountain Zoo overlooks Conwy and features Snow Leopards, Sumatran Tigers along with various shows throughout the day including the Penguin Parade, Winged Wonders, Chimp Encounter and the Sea Lions Rock.
Whatever your interests are there is always plenty to do in and around Llandudno. For more ideas visit our Llandudno Days Out Guides.
